The Art of Basic Sewing 1 allows Students to begin the first stages in the process of Sewing. Through hands-on training, you will learn how to use the Sewing Machine, Create various Stitching Details, Construct various Seam Finishing (Details is what's In), Zipper applications that will be beneficial for creating & finishing garments Develop & Stimilate your Creative Minds through the Art of Sewing & Construction.& ** Introducing Some New Finishing Techniques**!. Students will learn how to make a basic Elastic Waist Skirt or Boxer Short full garment utilizing the skills learned as a Final Class Project. Supplies & Material Included ~ Private Lessons are also offered on Friday's only upon request.

The Art of Intermediate Sewing July Session, Aurea & Kemi Students of the Month Highlights!

Kemi completed her Tailored Classic Pant & Aurea completed a pair of Women's Jeans!

However, We challenged ourselves in correcting the fit slightly after it was sewn due to the Jeans were too big, (even though we followed the sizing)

The Crotch Seam was stitched higher for a shorter Rise & Stitching Seams down the Center of the Legs (Front & Back) made the Jeans smaller.

And it fit her very nice!

The Art of Advanced Sewing Specializations gives students an opportunity to focus on one specialization or continue to pursue their niche or avenue of interest in garment making. Students Create Whole Garments from commercial patterns or Soul Collection's custom-made patterns. This Course is a Springboard to help students generate ideas in creating their own line if they so desire. Students can choose their desired specialization in the month being offered to further their educational experience. Such details may include Lining & Interfacing, Stitching Techniques, Lace & Trimming Details all dependent on the student's choice of study & pattern. HOW TO TAKE MEASUREMENTS - SEE RED LINES

Students get to choose 1 Selection from Creative Skirt Downloadable Patterns adjusted to their measurements for a custom-fit & taking their "tailor made" patterns home with them! This Online Class provides students with access to the Live Chat Classroom at the start date of the Course along w/remaining Chat Sessions to guide students in the Assembling & Sewing of their Skirts. There is approximately 8-10 hours work time students should plan for in order to complete their skirts within the 5 weeks & Last Chat. Students will receive instructions upon registration to find the perfect fabrics, linings, notions, trims (subject to pattern design)& list of supplies needed prior to Class start date. Students must provide their "True" Height, Bust, Waist & Hip Measurements in order for their custom patterns to be printed upon class registration. Students will develop their Personal Fit Woven or Knit Pant Pattern Sloper according to their Own Measurements in this Specialization Course. From their Sloper, Students will make the Pattern, Test the Fit & Sew up their own Specialized Designed Pant! Students will be able to use their Custom Fit Sloper as the Foundation to Developing & Designing other Pant Variations of their choice in the future, such as Jeans, Capri, Bermuda, High Waist, Goucho, Contour, Flared Leg & the list goes on according to your ability & imagination!

Students will need to complete Homework assignments in order to expedite completion of garments within the sessions. Students Must arrive to class on Time w/your tools necessary to work.

1 Hour 1 Session Draping Demo: The Pant

1 hour Workshop - $35.00 [NEW COURSE FEE]

Draping is a method designers used to work out their creative ideas directly in fabric on the dress form or a live model, creating a three-dimensional view, which ultimately will be developed into a collection of finished samples garments. Draping is an ideal way to develop ideas and create new silhouettes, and is combined w/the Flat Patternmaking. This workshop is a basic Introduction for Beginners to a quick and easy pants patternmaking technique. You will learn the method on how to drape a basic pair of pants thru this workshop demonstration. This is a Demonstration Only, Students who attend this demonstration will receive PDF Instructions to practice at home on your mannequin or have a friend drape on you to have your own custom pants pattern!

You will learn thru this 1 Hour Session workshop for Beginners the easiest way to create your own skirt from scratch using the Draping Method on a mannequin. You will see how to drape a Straight Skirt in just 15 minutes!! and learn some methods in developing variations of the Basic Skirt with a combined approach of draping with flat patternmaking, in which variations are worked out by manipulating this finished pattern as your Sloper. This workshop is hands on! Muslin fabric for Draping is not included in the course fee, however, can be purchased for $5.00 to drape your basic skirt! Workshop starts Promply on the Scheduled hour, you must be on-time or you'll miss it! Small setting of 4 Students.

The Art of Basic Flat Patternmaking I

Basic Patternmaking will enable Students to learn how to Develop your own Patterns enabling you to Create your own Designs & Samples. Students will learn how to measure our Standard Industrial Mannequins, which represent a composite figure of the human torso for Pattern Drafting & Draping. Students will develop Basic Slopers/Blocks, which is your foundation for Flat Patternmaking & becomes your basis for developing various patterns, such as dresses, skirts, tops, tunics, jackets, tank tops, etc. [The list is endless] Come on Board & Get Started on Life by Design!

4 classes of intensive jam-packed patternmaking ~ the beginning student is introduced to patternmaking thru flat drafting to form the skills relating to pattern designs.

the flat patternmaking design slopers is the foundational system & basis for forming other secondary patterns such as jackets (my specialization along w/intimate apparel) coats, tank, blousons, wrap designs, , halters, pants, jumpsuits, skirts, swimwear, etc.

Technical Designer Training Course: upon request

Through hands-on training , individuals will develop skills that can enable them to land jobs as Freelance Spec Technicians, or Assistant Technical Designers in Production within the Fashion Industry growing into positions as Technical Designers, Sr. Technical or Directors. Salaries can range between $30k progressively to $75k & higher with experience. Qualified Students upon completing this 8 Session Intensive Training in Technical Design will be provided with Leading Agencies to help assist in them with Temp, Freelance, or Permanent job positions.

Studies will include the Intro to the Fashion Industry, Fabrication & Silhouettes. Students will learn knowledge of Garment Construction, Learn Attention to Detailing, Measurment Specifications, obtain Fitting Skills, Grading Patterns, Flat Pattern Sketching & Corrections, Stitching Techniques & Terminologies used throughout for Production of Industry Garments .
